Where is Django Installed?

I was running through part 2 of the Django tutorial when I had to copy some files the Django source code directory. I'm on a Mac (Snow Leopard) and it happens to be at:

/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages/django

Now your friends can fill out your facebook profile for you

I was tagged as a "coworker" on Facebook today.

tagging.gif

I keep a spartan profile with only my name and profile photo displayed, so I was outraged to find that by tagging me as a coworker, my employment information was added to my profile. By someone else, against my will no less. I could only remove the tag after the fact, and even then, it only removed the information from my own profile, and not my coworker's. Severing ties with that coworker (unfriending) didn't help either.

I also tried to find a way to prevent myself from being tagged in this fashion. Users have the option to prevent tagged photos of themselves from being shown. Users also have the option to prevent others from checking you into places. However, there is no option to prevent others from tagging you as a coworker and adding that information to your own profile as well.

This sucks.

Two laptops per Wee

My XO laptop arrived yesterday and I am composing this blog entry on it right now. Sadly, I can't use all of the features in my blog management tool. Although the built-in browser is based on Firefox, it doesn't support more than one browser window, so any feature that relies on pop-up or modal windows doesn't work. I guess we can sleep soundly at night knowing that children in third world countries will never experience the aggravation of pop-up ads in their web surfing.

The ultimate toy

Okay, so the iPod Shuffle is out. I already have a G2 iPod but I don't really use it much, because it's not as portable as I would like it to be. While the 1 GB iPod Shuffle is very tempting, I'm holding out for an MP3-playing mobile phone... and I'm not talking about the one that Apple and Motorola have in the works. I want one with at least a 3 MP digital camera of respectable quality (comparable to the Canon SD200), PDA capabilities, a full keypad for email/IM and it must be no bigger than a Blackberry. I can't wait for the day when I can leave the house with but one gadget in my pocket. That, would be totally sweet.
